They have guides giving presentations around so you can get an up close look at some of the animals. It is quick and gives the kids a litlle down time. The zoo is great for a get away from the noise and chaos of the Park. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Hershey. After a day of standing in line for everything at Hershey Park, you are 1 of only 10 people on the tour. We also learned soooo much about the animals' care, activities, how and where the zoo gets them, and even their individual personalities. We got to feed the otter and the bears, shoot a blow gun, hold a screech owl, touch reptiles, and see animal activity that you never see in the day. ![]() It lasts 2 hours and you have to book in advance. They take people in groups of 10 behind the scenes and around to a see some of the animals in the park at night. We did the after-hours tour and loved it. The food is also a few dollars cheaper than the park, and the eating area is quieter and has a nicer view. You get in to the zoo for free if you are already in Hershey Park. There are areas where you get to throw feed to the geese and carp, so take quarters for the machines. The staff is very friendly, and they have an area where they show some of the animals to visitors, you just need to check the scheduled times. I've been to several zoos, and this one is a nice little zoo. This zoo is a nice place to visit, especially if you have small children.
